Autodesk (pre-modelling)
Before stepping into real cadding and programming, this week during lab, we were asked to model a given hip implant - femur stem to practice our modelling skill, which will be extremely useful later in the project as I chose to be on the modelling team. The picture to the right is the hip implant that I modeled off. There are many spots and technique that need to be improved as there are too many edges that should be smoothed out.
Design analysis
With in-class knowledge about stress, strain, fracture risk, failure, we were given some sets of data on the elastic modulus of some potential materials that we will be using, and the measurement of the patient, to calculate the fracture risk, fatigue life and reduced stress on the bone.
